Capgras Pictures is an independent film production company from India, created with a global vision for bold, uncompromising cinema.
We are drawn to stories that live at the edges of human experience—where perception becomes uncertain, reality begins to fracture, and the inexplicable refuses to remain unseen.
Our cinema moves through psychological horror, supernatural narratives, thrillers, mysteries and the darker territories of storytelling, without allowing genre, geography or language to define its boundaries.
We believe a powerful story should not belong to one country. It should cross cultures, provoke curiosity, disturb certainty and remain with an audience long after the screen goes dark.

Capgras Pictures was founded by Jay Alani and Harin Chandra, brought together by a shared ambition: to build an independent production company from India capable of creating distinctive dark cinema for audiences across the world.
JAY ALANI
Co-Founder Writer Director
A paranormal investigator, storyteller, author and filmmaker, Jay Alani has spent more than a decade investigating the unexplained and studying the complicated territory between belief, psychology, fear and human perception.
His experiences across hundreds of investigations inform a storytelling philosophy grounded not simply in frightening audiences, but in confronting them with questions that resist easy answers.
At Capgras Pictures, Jay leads the company’s creative vision, developing stories conceived for cinema beyond geographical and cultural boundaries.
HARIN CHANDRA
Co-Founder Producer
Harin Chandra is the co-founder and producer behind Capgras Pictures, working across the company’s production, development and strategic growth.
With a focus on building ambitious projects through strong production foundations and international collaboration, he works alongside the creative team to transform Capgras stories from concept into cinema.
Together, the founders share one objective:
To build globally recognised cinema from India without compromising the darkness, originality or identity of the stories they choose to tell.

Our vision is to develop original films and intellectual properties from India with the creative ambition, cinematic language and international collaborations required to reach audiences worldwide.
We seek stories that challenge perception rather than simply entertain it—stories that are psychologically provocative, visually distinctive and unafraid to venture into uncomfortable territory.
Capgras Pictures is not defined by one genre. We are defined by the worlds we choose to enter and the questions we are willing to ask.
